“This version of The Forgotten City retains all the beloved gameplay elements from the original mod while upgrading pretty much everything,” says Nick Pearce, the writer and creative director at Modern Storyteller.
The Forgotten City developer has said that the title would be in English, though it will also have subtitles and text localized in German. According to Modern Storyteller, players can take advantage of a time loop in the same style as Russian Doll or Groundhog Day, meaning that they interrogate the inhabitants of the underground ruins in order to uncover different secrets and put “together the pieces of a giant interpersonal puzzle.”
